"A website based in Edmonton, weirdcanada.com, was voted best music site by the listeners of CBC Radio 3. "Woooo!" said the site’s founder, Aaron Levin, in a radio interview seconds after Thursday’s announcement.

"I’m excited. This is really amazing. I feel honoured." Weird Canada, which was founded in 2009, was whittled down from an initial list of 109 nominees.

The site focuses on the country’s emerging and underthe-radar artists such as Edmonton’s Gobble Gobble, Montreal’s Dirty Beaches and Vancouver’s Makeout Videotape.”
