Kindness-House
With 2012 being a little more than halfway over already countless “top album” lists have been rolling out from all over the web. As a matter of fact mine will be posted later today but anyways that’s besides the point. The folks over at Stereogum dropped their top 25 a bit early (in May) and right under Grimes’ Visions comes the debut LP World, You Need A Change of Mind from Adam Bainbridge who’s better known under the moniker of Kindness. The album offers a pleasant mixture of disco, house, new wave, and everything in between and once you listen to it in it’s entirety you may be able to see just why it was one to top Visions. Kindness has made a wonderful debut effort and I’d say it’s one that won’t be easily forgotten. The track “House” is driven by its slight pop tendencies and ingenious electronics and as it progresses it flows along like elegant clockwork behind Bainbridge’s smooth, gentle vocals. If you’ve yet to hear World, You Need A Change Of Mind I’d definitely recommend it and you can do so by streaming it on spotify.
